The Sojourner Health Clinic, developed and managed by students of the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine, provides free outpatient care to the downtown community. Each Sunday, following Grand Avenue Temple UMC worship service, the students (with medical faculty supervision) provide acute and chronic medical care to the underserved population of Kansas City. The clinic’s many services include blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, dispensing medications, and an on-site physician.

The Sojourner Health Clinic opened in 2004 and since then has served as a primary care provider to thousands of patients. Faculty physicians and resident physicians from Truman Medical Center East, Truman Medical Center West and St. Luke’s Hospital participate in a supervisory capacity alongside medical students.  You can learn more at their website.
