Prayer Brings Positive Change

At Grand Avenue Temple, we have personally experienced the power of prayer. We’re excited to share some of the ways we are praying for you and our community.

Moms in Prayer

Each week, caring mothers gather together to pray for specific needs. Guided by scriptures, we bring our needs before God to bring about big and small miracles in everyday lives.

And yet He rejoiced in your fathers and loved them so much that He chose you, their children, to be above every other nation, as is evident today. PRAISE: God is Immutable—Never changing or varying—unchangeable

I Samuel 15: 29 “He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a man, that he should change his mind.”

Psalm 33:8-11 “Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded and it stood firm. The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.”

CONFESSION: I John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

THANKSGIVING: 1 Chronicles 16:8, “Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name, make known among the nations what He has done.”

INTERCESSION: I John 3:7-9, “Dear children do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reasons the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.”

PRAISE: God is our Friend

John 15:9 – 17, “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead , I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.”
